Welcome to the Alberta Airports Management Association
I am honored and excited to again serve you as Chairman of the Alberta Airports Management Association for the 2013-2014 term and to represent airport owners and operators in all facets of airport related issues. We are fortunate to have an outstanding Board of Directors who are focused and prepared to address important issues that face our airport community. We have great reason to be proud of our association and the benefits we continue to receive through the AAMA.
As we move forward this year, there are several things of interest the AAMA Board will be working on. First, we will be working as a member of the SMS working group. This group has members from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, NWT, Nunavit and Transport Canada. Next, I have requested the Minister of Transportation for Alberta to add our association as a member of the Strategic Transportation Advisory Committee. In order to provide our members the opportunity to meet and socialize, we have planned the annual maintenance seminar and training for this year the first week of June in Leduc, Alberta. We will continue to update our website.
I had no idea when I first became involved with this association that I would have the prestigious opportunity to serve you in this capacity. I have nothing but respect for the Alberta Airports Management Association. I have had the opportunity to serve this association in a number of capacities and as a member of the Board of Directors in the past. From all these roles I have learned the importance of teamwork, dedication, and have witnessed first-hand the passion that we all have for this great industry. I anticipate a very exciting year for this organization.
