I feel privileged to have the opportunity to continue to serve as the Chairman of the Alberta Airports Management Association. I am lucky to be working with a dedicated group serving as the board of directors alongside me as we continue to strive to represent all of our members while addressing all of the important issues facing the airport community.
As has become tradition, our annual maintenance and training seminar will be held during the first week of June. This year we are looking to improve on the content of the seminar by running multiple topics simultaneously in adjacent rooms. This will allow attendees to participate in discussion and training tailored to their specific needs.
With the recent political changes in the province we feel that now more than ever is the time to establish a relationship and dialog with the Government of Alberta. This will allow us to continue to bring forward issues such as funding for smaller airports. We also continue to converse with Transport Canada regarding regulatory issues such as TP312 and RESA.
I am Excited to lead this organization forward to meet the challenges and embrace the changes that lie ahead. Thank you for this amazing opportunity to represent you as chairman.
William Stewart, C.M.
